NewComma is a creative membership community and talent platform connecting African and Black creatives to global opportunities. They exist to help creatives get seen, get booked, and get paid to be themselves by supporting every stage of the creative journey through a phygital experience that blends powerful online tools with real world access. NewComma also gives companies, agencies, and institutions direct access to exceptional creative talent.
The visual identity needed to strike a balance between editorial polish and grassroots energy that was adaptable enough for mobile, desktop, social, and live events. We developed a suite of branded social assets, edited high-impact video content, and directed campaigns that helped establish NewComma’s voice and visual language across multiple touch points online and offline.
Our approach to building the NewComma brand is rooted in clarity, cultural fluency, and consistency. We treat brand as infrastructure, not just aesthetics, ensuring every visual, word, and interaction serves the platform’s purpose to connect, empower, and elevate Black and African creatives globally. We prioritise systems over trends, crafting a brand world that feels both creatively expressive and strategically grounded.
The result is a cohesive, scalable brand that resonates across regions and mediums, helping NewComma grow from an early-stage idea into a recognised creative ecosystem with over 60,000 community members. The visual identity has become instantly recognisable across digital and physical spaces, while the website delivers both clarity and creative flexibility for a growing suite of tools. Our content and creative direction have helped establish NewComma’s distinct voice, supported funding conversations, and powered multiple successful campaigns, events, and partnerships across the UK and Africa.
